Cathy Tabbakh is a French painter of Armenian descent, living and working in London. Her practice explores the emotional and immersive power of colour and how it shapes atmosphere, evokes memory and creates a sense of stillness.

Her work exists between the imagined and the real, where structural forms meet botanical references. Drawing from still life traditions alongside influences from interior design and architecture she creates compositions that reflect a desire for green organic spaces, balancing control with fluidity and construction with growth.

At the core of her work is a sensitivity to light, shadow and stillness. Through monochromatic compositions she distils form to its essence, while colour introduces atmosphere and emotional depth, guiding the viewer through quiet suspended moments.

Paper is an important medium in her practice, alongside painting and ceramics, offering a space for immediacy and experimentation and allowing her to explore gesture, composition and colour in a more fluid and intimate way.

Tabbakh has exhibited internationally across Europe, the UK, the United States, Australia and more recently in Seoul South Korea and Taiwan. Her work is held in private collections worldwide and has been part of the Soho House Collection since 2021 with commissions and installations across four Soho Houses. She also expands her practice into ceramics, translating her visual language into three dimensional form.

Across all mediums her work seeks to create a sense of harmony where colour, light and form come together to offer moments of quiet presence and contemplation.
